Translation technology – Opportunities or Threats?
1st Local OCPE Conference, April 4 2014
The “translation industry” is changing so fast that it is proving hard to keep up with all the latest developments. This is why OCPE felt it was about time we opened up a discussion with the community of interpreters and translators over the current state of the art and the perspectives in the near future.
The conference “Translation Technology – Opportunities or Threats?” will give you an overview of the new technologies employed in the translation and interpreting sectors while showing you how to best integrate them in your workflow. Internationally renowned speakers, from the Netherlands and abroad, will address the dramatic impact that technology is having on the translator’s working milieu and will share insights on how to transform threats into profitable opportunities.
Translators, interpreters, students and other professionals eager to learn more about the subject should therefore save the conference date: Friday, 4 April 2014 at the NBC Congress Centre, Utrecht – Nieuwegein.
Furthermore, translators and interpreters can earn 5 PE points (category E-H) through their participation.
All of you are welcome and kindly invited to secure a seat in advance!
Note that simultaneous interpreting services from NL into EN and vice versa will be provided all day!
Moderator: Michel Vrisekoop, VTMT translation agency – Amsterdam
